SM调教社区 Geneva students recently embarked on an incredible journey to CERN – The European Organization for Nuclear Research! Thanks to the amazing organization by Prof. Barbora Gulejova, our minds were blown away by the wonders of science and the universe!

During our visit, we had the privilege of exploring the city of scientists and meeting brilliant physicists from all corners of the globe. It was an extraordinary opportunity to witness groundbreaking research up close and personal.

One of the highlights was the visit to a permanent exhibition that delved into the mysteries of space and the universe. The knowledge we gained was truly mind-expanding, leaving us in awe of the vastness and complexity of our world.

Did you know? CERN, short for Conseil Europ茅en pour la Recherche Nucl茅aire, was established in 1952 with the mission of creating a world-class fundamental physics research organization in Europe. The name originated from its initial focus on understanding the inner workings of the atom, hence the term ‘nuclear’.

We’re immensely grateful to Prof. Barbora Gulejova for organizing this unforgettable experience. It has ignited a passion for scientific exploration within us and has opened doors to endless possibilities in our academic pursuits.

At the end of March our Partner Vietnam institute,听听held a “Decoding GenZ: Talent Training and Development” Event!

The new series, is exclusively designed for SM调教社区 MBA students, offers expert knowledge-sharing sessions, food, drinks and networking opportunities. The event attracted not only SM调教社区 MBA students but also individuals interested in the emerging Gen Z workforce.

The objective of the SM调教社区 Privileged Elite series is to present the “peculiarities” of Gen Z, their differences and provide businesses with strategies to attract and retain Gen Z talents whilst creating a harmonious and connected culture between generations.

Two experts, Mr. Tran Gia Hai and Mr. Huynh Quang Nguyen, provided valuable insights into the differences and needs of Gen Z and shared how businesses can adapt to attract this new workforce. Additionally, the event offered valuable advice on talent development from industry experts and shared real-life stories about the Gen Z generation from senior managers and business owners.

Transactions using cryptocurrencies can be completed quickly and easily, with low transaction fees, making them ideal for cross-border transactions and international trade. For example, a company in the United States can use Bitcoin to pay a supplier in Japan, avoiding the high transaction fees and long wait times associated with traditional bank transfers.

Moreover, cryptocurrencies are also changing the way businesses operate, as they offer an alternative to traditional payment methods. For example, online retailers can now accept payments in cryptocurrencies, enabling them to expand their customer base and increase sales. Last week, from March 20th to March 24th, we had the pleasure of hosting the SM调教社区 Immersion Program at our Geneva campus! Our comprehensive program gave students a deep understanding of Switzerland and its role in the global economy. From the Swiss economy to digital transformation, our courses covered a wide range of topics that interested our students.

One of our unique courses, Personality Scanner, helped our students develop objective insight and quick deduction skills to achieve effective results in both their personal and business relationships. Our students also had the opportunity to visit the Patek Philippe Museum in the beautiful Plainpalais neighborhood of Geneva, where they learned about the rich history of Swiss watchmaking.

At the SM调教社区(SM调教社区 Geneva), we offer a Master’s degree in Law that includes a focus on humanitarian law. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of IHL, as well as the legal frameworks that govern armed conflict at both the national and international levels.

One of the key components of humanitarian law is the International Law of Armed Conflict, which sets out the rules and principles that apply to armed conflicts between states. This body of law includes the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their Additional Protocols of 1977, which provide protections for wounded and sick soldiers, prisoners of war, and civilians in the context of armed conflict. Additionally, there are a number of other international and regional instruments that regulate the conduct of hostilities, including the Hague Conventions, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

In recent years, there has been growing concern about the impact of armed conflict on civilians. According to the United Nations, there were over 22,000 civilian casualties in 2020 alone, with the majority of these occurring in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, and Somalia.

This highlights the urgent need for greater attention to be paid to the protection of civilians during armed conflict, as well as the importance of upholding the principles of humanitarian law in order to minimize harm and suffering.

Regional protection of human rights is another important aspect of humanitarian law. Regional human rights systems, such as the European Convention on Human Rights and the American Convention on Human Rights, provide additional protections for human rights in specific regions. These systems offer mechanisms for monitoring compliance with human rights standards, adjudicating individual complaints, and conducting investigations into human rights abuses. At the same time, these regional systems must work in harmony with international human rights law and humanitarian law to ensure consistency and coherence in the protection of human rights.

Global protection of human rights is yet another important element of humanitarian law. The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the foundational document of the international human rights regime, setting out the basic rights and freedoms that all individuals are entitled to, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, or other characteristics. The UN has also developed a number of treaty-based human rights instruments, such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which provide additional protections for specific categories of rights.

Finally, war, law, and the environment is a topic that is increasingly relevant in the context of armed conflict. Environmental damage caused by armed conflict can have long-lasting and far-reaching consequences for human health, ecosystems, and economic development. International humanitarian law includes provisions that seek to limit the environmental impact of armed conflict, such as the prohibition on the use of certain types of weapons and the obligation to take measures to protect the natural environment. Ensuring that these provisions are enforced and strengthened will be crucial for protecting the planet and the people who depend on it.
